California Wildflowers
Springtime in California is one of those experiences that touches you deep in your soul. The barren desert comes alive with a few drops of moisture trickling down from snow-capped peaks. Soon, the desert is awash in colors and smells of flowers that have, in some cases, lain hidden for decades. Flowers that are patient, biding their time for the optimal opportunity. Instincts, if you can call them that. That have let them survive for tens of thousands of years.
Appreciating the little things in life applies to the natural world as well. Lying on your belly and studying the flowers’ details is akin to looking into the eyes of a lover and memorizing each subtle shade of blue and just how it sparkles, and of course, you can’t do that without breathing in the sweet aroma.
